✈️ Welcome Back, Captains!
I’m often asked why I don’t feature more current flight simulation news—things like add-on releases or the latest updates to Microsoft Flight Simulator. It’s a fair question. The short answer? Time.
I’m just one middle-aged, semi-retired guy with a deep love for this hobby. Every day, I read, learn, and soak in as much flight sim knowledge as I can. But keeping up with all the news this hobby generates—let alone publishing it daily—is simply beyond my reach. Thankfully, we already have excellent, dedicated news sites like FSElite and Threshold doing an outstanding job. These are my go-to sources, and I’ve proudly linked to them on my blog for years. With the recent site refresh, you’ll now find those links prominently displayed in the top-right link box.
Looking back to my early blogging days—way back in September 2010—we didn’t have reliable sources like those. Plenty tried, but most fell short. That’s why I chose a different path. From day one, my goal has been to share my personal experiences in flight simulation—offering insights, opinions, and advice for readers to agree or disagree with freely. No corporate sponsorships. No obligations. Just honest, hands-on storytelling.
And that philosophy carries over to product reviews. As an independent blogger, every add-on I write about is one I’ve purchased myself for personal use. I don’t buy what I won’t use. Take the CSS 737 Classic I reviewed recently—as fun as it looked at $5, my flying tends to stick with modern aircraft used by major airline carriers.
So if you’re looking for flashy headlines and breaking news, you’ll find better coverage elsewhere. But if you’re after heartfelt commentary from someone who’s been around the block, who respects and lives this hobby every day—that’s what you’ll find here.
Thanks for being a part of this journey.
Until next time… Happy Flying!
