A Return to “Position and Hold”
In just a few months, I’ll be celebrating 15 years of blogging about the flight simulation hobby—something I’ve truly enjoyed every step of the way. Back in those early days, only a handful of bloggers were writing about their simming experiences. Today, I find myself one of the last remaining voices from that original group.
When I first launched my blog, I called it Position and Hold. The name was a nod to the old FAA terminology, retired just as I began. While “Line Up and Wait” became the standard phrase, I liked the symbolism of the older one. To me, it perfectly captured the essence of the blog—you, the reader, would position yourself on the site and hold there, immersed in the journey.
Around 2015, as I branched into YouTube content covering not just flight simulation but also farming and trucking sims, I rebranded the blog to reflect that broader focus. It was a fun and creative time exploring those other titles alongside flying.
These days, though, my content has returned to where my passion truly lies: flight simulation. While I still enjoy other sim genres, I haven’t felt the same pull to write about them. That’s why I’m going back to my roots and restoring the blog’s original name—Position and Hold.
The legacy content covering other sims isn’t going anywhere. It’ll remain accessible under the “Other Sims” section of the site, and who knows, maybe I’ll drop a post there now and then.
I’ve also taken this opportunity to refresh the site itself. The updated layout is designed to offer a cleaner, more modern experience that should work beautifully across all devices. I hope you like the new look and continue to find value in the content I share.
Thanks for sticking with me through the taxiways and takeoffs.
Until next time…
Happy flying!
