Hello Captains and Welcome Back
The buzz in the flight sim community is growing louder: the highly anticipated PMDG Boeing 737-800 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is nearly here. According to Robert Randazzo, we’ll see it before the end of the year—but there are strong hints it could arrive even sooner.
Just a few days ago, several content creators began showcasing the new 737-800 on Twitch and YouTube. Historically, that’s a sign we’re only days away from release. My hunch, however, is that PMDG will align the launch with the upcoming MSFS 2024 SU4 update, which is expected to drop any day now. While PMDG has stated the release isn’t tied to SU4, it makes sense they’d wait until the update lands to ensure a smooth rollout.
For me, this is huge news. It’s the second-to-last piece I need before making the full transition to MSFS 2024. The last? ChasePlane support—hopefully not too far behind.
Once SU4 is live and the PMDG 737-800 is in our hangars, I’ll share my impressions. We’ve been told the upgrade price for existing MSFS 2020 owners will be “about the cost of a cup of coffee.” Of course, that depends on where you buy your coffee—so we’ll see just how true that turns out to be.
So, what do you think? Are you excited for the PMDG 737-800’s arrival?
Until next time…
Happy Flying!
