Hello Captains and welcome back!
Over the past few months, I’ve received several emails from some of you asking about the Airbus A350 by iniBuilds. Alongside that, there’s been growing curiosity around other Airbus widebody aircraft — the A330, A340, and A380. While I absolutely adore the Fenix A320 family (and proudly own them all), and I’m eagerly awaiting the NEO variants once they’re released, I have to admit… the Airbus widebody fleet just doesn’t impress me enough to fly them. And I say that with all due respect to those of you who do love these aircraft.
My number one reason? Time. Or rather, the lack of it. Yes, I know I could technically fly these aircraft on shorter routes, but I’m all about immersion — keeping my sim experience as true-to-life as possible. Lately, I’ve barely had time to enjoy my PMDG Boeing 777. When I do carve out a few hours, I typically opt for American hub-to-hub flights or slip into cargo mode with FedEx.
Another reason I’ve held off on the Airbus widebodies is that, frankly, I think we’ve been spoiled by the Fenix product. It’s just that good. Sure, it had its launch hiccups, but it’s matured beautifully. Meanwhile, I’m still hearing about lingering issues with the iniBuilds A350. Should we expect all developers to meet the same standard? Honestly… why not? Especially when they’re pricing their products in the same ballpark. Over the years, I’ve learned not to throw caution to the wind when making purchases like these.
That said, I’ll admit — the A350 is a stunning aircraft. If time allows, and if future updates address the current concerns, I’d absolutely consider adding it to my fleet.
So what say you? If you own the iniBuilds A350, I’d love to hear your experience. Has it earned a permanent spot in your hangar, or is it still waiting for a few more patches?
Until next time…
Happy Flying!
